This submission from the library and information sector to the Department of Home Affairs Multicultural Framework Review is jointly made by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), CAVAL, and the ALIA Multicultural special interest group.
This submission outlines the role that libraries play supporting multicultural communities to ensure that they are visible and understood in further policy development.
PLV Early Literacy Handbook

Public Libraries of Victoria have released the Early Literacy Handbook. The handbook has been updated to be include resources for a more inclusive storytime and early years literacy programming. Featured in the handbook are current examples of multicultural storytimes and helpful suggestions on having bi-lingual and in language storytimes and other early years programs. We'd like to hear from our community of the ways you involve and collaborate with your multicultural communities across the country.
We are seeking expressions of interest for articles and voices to contribute to the ALIA Multicultural website. If you or someone you know would be interested in sharing an article, latest research, opinion piece with our community send us an email expressing areas of interest or articles. The ALIA Multicultural website is a collaborative initiative and we are seeking your voice.
